Adorable...ness

Happy Tuesday, Everyone.

In honor of this lovely spring-like weather, I decided to make a playlist that included a few new (to me) bands that I've been listening to and think you should try out (along with some songs that are not necessarily new to me, but that you should try out EVEN SO!)

Owl City - Hello Seattle
Owl City - The Saltwater Room
Lenka - Don't Let Me Fall
His Girl Friday - Boo Hoo
His Girl Friday - Kids (a sweet remake of MGMT)
Sia - Buttons
Lily Allen - Back to the Start (from the new album)

Enjoy!

This is a serious disappointment, if it means what I think it does ---

"Teen heartthrob and double Grammy nominee Chris Brown was talking with detectives Sunday night about an alleged felony assault on an unidentified woman the night before. Police records showed he was being held on $50,000 bail.
Sources say the unnamed female in the complaint is superstar Rihanna.
According to a Los Angeles Police Department report, officers arrived on the scene after receiving a 911 call reporting a disturbance. A woman with visible injuries identified Chris Brown as her attacker. The victim said they were arguing in the car, which escalated when they stopped.
Brown had already left the scene when authorities arrived.
Insiders confirm that some kind of incident took place in Hancock Park last night after the couple left the pre-Grammy gala at the Beverly Hilton. Same insiders say they are shocked and that "Chris is a good kid, well brought up."

The Recording Academy announced an hour before the Grammys that pop superstar Rihanna was 'unable to join us this evening.'
Rihanna was slated to sing 'Live Your Life/Disturbia' and Brown was later to sing 'Forever.'
The singer's publicist, Jana Fleishman issued a statement Sunday.
"Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support," Fleishman said."

Artist Spotlight

Coconut Records  - Indie Pop, "Actor Pop," "West Coast Pop"
So you probably know who Jason Schwartzman (the actor) is, from The Darjeeling Limited or Rushmore, but you may not know that he is also a drummer! He started his music career drumming in the band Phantom Planet BEFORE acting, and eventually left the band in 2003. In 2007, he released the first album, "Nighttiming" for his band Coconut Records, and in just January of this year released the second album called "Davy".

Wisdom

I recently got my Wisdom teeth removed (if you were thinking I sounded very dumb, thats why....wow, thats a "mom" joke) and made a chill-out playlist for the procedure. This isn't falling asleep music, it is more a mix of just happy, upbeat tunes that worked at calming my nerves beforehand.

Orientation

As is performed at the commencement of college, camps and other excitingly fun programs, this first post will pose as an orientation to introduce everyone to Ragoo'd, my music (and other ingredients that might be thrown into my hopefully *someday* perfect stew) blog. Since I have been listening to music for about 22 years, and have tried to become a master playlister for the last few, this is my attempt at sharing my music taste with the world.

If asked to describe my taste in music, I would WANT to say almost EVERYTHING, but in the end, I can't say that because I haven't heard it all, and never will (plus, I will never like Marilyn Manson... so I guess it will always be somewhat exclusive). That being said, I try to be open to new music, whether its Country (which I hated for most of my life) or in Portugese (which I will probably never understand).

So, the purpose of this site will be to introduce anyone who is interested to new music, old music, fun music, depressing music, or any other music that is worth listening to. Discovering and listening are the primary focuses of this blog, so with that:

Please Enjoy.
